Popocatepetl is a volcano located in Mexico, near the city Pueblo. Because of intensified gas emission of Popocatepetl, airport in Pueblo had to be closed for one more time during few days.
The volcano showed the signs of activity during the weekend and sent hot rocks, ash and vapor into the air. It is the biggest activity since last 3 months and was alerted with the level five on a seven levels scale.

Around the volcano there lives over 30 million people, but no evacuation actions were taken so far. However, all citizens were recommended to be ready to leave if the situation is going to get worse.

In Africa is going to be created the biggest preservation park in the world, called The Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area… or shortly, juz KAZA.
It will contain 36 (!) national parks, many wildlife and tourism area.

It’s going to be located in a southern Africa, and the size of this entire enterprise will be bigger than the size of Italy! This idea was given green light by the leaders of five African nations – Angola, Botstwana, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe. This project is going to be financially supported by WWF (World Wildlife Funding) and also become giant tourist area, which also will help the projects’ budget.

Ecologists say it’s a brilliant idea… but hard to realize. As they said, noble ideas  require some skills. And in some countries undertakings like this failed.

Even if conservationists are a little sceptical, Greenzoner is really optimistic and wish them good luck!

Judging by the most of the answers to the last question, most of you prefer bicycle as a non-polluting mean of transport. :) But have you heard about the newest project of ecologic bicycle? http://www.greenzoner.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/bicicletaecologica.jpg
This bicycle is powered by solar energy, so when you are too tired to keep on pedalling, you just use the battery. That lets you travel long distances without using a car.
The bike itself can be folded – so it is easy to keep in a small area or to move it somewhere else. :)

For now these are just projects, but there is a plan to make a zone in Central London, where only bikes will be permitted as the means of transports. There are also going to be places when you can rent or buy this kind of bike.
