GZEcoDictionary – something new!

July 24th, 2013

Hello GreenZoners,

today we have for you something totally new. We want you to work with us to develop a kind of dictionary based on words connected with ecology. We are waiting for your ideas,  words and definitions – in comments or e-mails (social@greenzoner.com).  Write to us also if you want to add something to our definition. As always we have some gifts for the most creative;).

Our first word is: Carbon dioxine (CO2).

It is a naturally occurring chemical compound composed of two oxygen atoms covalently bonded to a single carbon atom. Why this gas is so important for us? Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, absorbing heat radiation from Earth’s surface which otherwise would have left the atmosphere. The industrial revolution caused rapidly increased concentrations of atmospheric carbon dioxide, increasing the rate of global worming and causing climate change.

So: CO2 is necessary, but in the same time too much of CO2 is dangerous for people and planet.
