Eco News #18 – many dolphins found dead at Gulf of Mexico

Recently, there were reported many deaths of dolphins in the area of Gulf of Mexico – especially of younger dolphins, not long after their births. Ecologists estimated that these deaths are rather unusual, as six time more dolphins died than normally.

Scientists stated that the reason of these excessive deaths is infamous, disastrous BP oil spill in Gulf of Mexico in 2010. Because of their environment got extremely polluted, slowly dolphins’ food got depleted, and spreading bacteria in the water weakened those marine mammals, so they caught many diseases.
